Detroit REPRESENT! is a youth-led collective designed to equip LGBTQ youth of color in the city of Detroit with the skills, tools, and support they need to address systemic racism, homophobia, and transphobia in their communities while growing as young activists. As the youth members begin to shape their campaign work, they have identified experiences of intimate partner violence, bullying in school, erasure of Arab-American queer youth, discriminatory treatment of LGBTQ youth by shelter staff, and street violence within the transit system as areas of particular focus.
